Brisbane Activists Celebrate Global Solidarity at Annual Trivia Night
Congratulations to the activists and internationalists who organised the annual Brisbane Global Solidarity Trivia Night!
This year, around ninety unionists put on their thinking caps in a battle of wits to see who would be crowned the 2019 Brisbane Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA Trivia Night champion. The winning teams were the Fidelistas, the KGB, and The Big Ride for Palestine!
Together, the Brisbane Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA community raised over $4,500 dollars that will bolster the fight for global justice! Overall, the Brisbane activist group has raised at least $50,000 since they started organising the trivia night.
Raffles, great prizes, testing questions, good food and drinks, and great company were hallmarks of another special night for global solidarity. A special feature of the night was the raffle of a pair of diamond earrings, donated by Rita Williams of Sunstate Jewellers.
Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA Executive Officer, Kate Lee, thanked the Brisbane activist group, members and supporters, and Union Aid Abroad –APHEDA ally organisation the Big Ride for Palestine for their efforts in fundraising for Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA’s partner unions and organisations around the world.
