Every year Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA is thrilled to give away wonderful prizes to our supporters through our annual raffle. We love hearing from the previous lucky winners to find out how they have been enjoying their prizes.
Last year, Nancy Atkin won a $1500 Good Food gift card in APHEDA’s raffle. She said: “Winning this was a really nice surprise. We’ve used it multiple times, I’ve still got some left over, to be honest.”
Since Nancy lives in Melbourne, she could use the gift card at dozens of award-winning restaurants. “My husband and I have been making the most of it, trying out new restaurants that we wouldn’t have otherwise gone to. We also took a big group of friends out to our favourite restaurant and shouted everyone dinner. It was wonderful.
“I’m so grateful for this fabulous prize. I’m really glad I won second prize, because I already own a bicycle and there are too many books in my house,” she laughed.

Cath and Paul Crittenden won first prize in APHEDA’s raffle in 2020, which was an $8000 travel voucher. Cath said: “We were delighted to win the prize, even though we had to defer the enjoyment of using it for a couple of years.
“We hadn’t been on a cruise before, so we were excited to try something different. We booked a luxury cruise trip around the east coast of New Zealand on the Majestic Princess. It was a 12-day trip, stopping along the way at Milford Sound, Dunedin, Auckland, Tauranga, Picton, and Christchurch.
“It was fabulous. The food and entertainment on board were excellent and we had a wonderful time.”
