South Australian Activists Celebrate 2020 Terri Daktyl Memorial (Virtual) Dinner!
We’ve received this event wrap-up from activist Paul Inglis, member and organiser of Professionals Australia (South Australia), who helped organise the 2020 Terri Daktyl Dinner:
Not even a worldwide pandemic could stop the annual Terri Daktyl Dinner going ahead this year!
Around forty people attended the online virtual event which included a live auction, a trivia battle, music performance and international guest speaker.
Vietnam Country Manager Hoang Thi Le Hang provided an update on how Vietnam and the region was coping with COVID-19, and an update on the Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA projects that the Terri Daktyl Dinner raises funds for.
The event raised over $4000, with funds going towards Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA’s Gender in Political Leadership and Decision-Making project that supports key Vietnamese institutions to achieve stronger representation and advocacy for women’s rights.
After the year we’ve had so far, and the isolation it was great getting a bunch of friends together for a great cause and have some fun – Terri would have been proud!
