Project Description

Support for trade unions to accelerate a just transition from coal to renewable energy in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan, two of Indonesia's largest coal-producing provinces. It collaborates with government, industry, trade unions, communities, civil society, and academia to create local pathways toward low-carbon, resilient energy systems and sustainable, just economies with decent jobs. The project aligns with the Paris Agreement and the ILO's Just Transition Guidelines and fosters an international network for learning and policy dialogue across coal regions in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, supported by a knowledge hub.
